Message from Mrs. Shepherd

Message from Mrs. Shepherd

I hope this message finds you well!

Our School Council meeting which was scheduled for tonight, Tuesday, October 20nd has been moved to Tuesday, November 3rd and will take place virtually. A link will be sent out to all parents. In the meantime, our President, Chair, Vice Chair for Sr. High, Vice Chair for Jr. High and Vice Chair for the Outreach and Secretary/Treasurer positions are up for election this year. I would like to thank all of the past representatives for their service to the school! If you are interested in any of these positions, please submit your name via email to Rhonda Maginn at [email protected]. All names will be added to the list and elections will take place at our November 3rd meeting. School Council is an excellent way to stay informed and involved with our school and we need positions to be filled so that we can continue to run our School Council at Wm. E. Hay Stettler Secondary Campus.

Student Learning Conferences are underway! All parents should expect contact from their child's Teacher Advisor to set up a Student Learning Conference to discuss supports, attendance, and academics.

Today our Jr. High Virtual Awards Ceremony was released to students and parents. You can access the virtual presentation on our school website as well. Congratulations to all award recipients for their efforts in the 2019-2020 school year! Our staff are hard at work putting together our Sr. High Virtual Awards Ceremony set to be released at the end of this month. Lifetouch will be in the building on November 5th to take pictures of all award recipients.

With the unusual nature of this year, we are not able to run our regular Open House, but we have created a Virtual Open House for all parents that will be released soon. This allows you to choose which rooms you navigate through, which teachers you hear from and provides contact information for all of our staff. Stay tuned for the link!

With much of how we communicate with you being virtual, please remember that we are here to support in person as well. If you need to meet with your child's teacher, Teacher Advisor, Student Services or an Administrator, you are welcome to schedule an appointment. We are in this together!

Take care,

Myranda Shepherd
